I have set up this site to expand and update the information (i.e. describe new science results), presented in my book Telescopes: A Very Short Introduction, and also to write about other interesting ideas. Please feel free to suggest any science topics that you might be interested in hearing about!
I will also present and describe some of my astrophotos. For example, the header photo on the home page is my photo of the hydrogen-alpha emission in the Pelican nebula (in the constellation of Cygnus), a star-forming region of gas and dust not far from the bright star Deneb. It was taken with a six-inch refractor combined with a CCD camera.
